O Canada!

O Canada!
We entered Alberta and a world of:
Wide open spaces,
Liters instead of gallons,
kilometers instead of miles,
Road signs of no words, just images,

Farm after farm with charming houses and barns,

Tim Horton's coffee and donuts, (yay!!)

And a wild evening storm filled with ominous clouds and plenty of lightening.
Whew-that was pretty scary as we drove right into it!

This little fellow pumped our gas and washed our windshield.
(Yeah, they still do that in Canada.)
Jack gave him a tip in American money as that was all we had at the time.
He looked at the bill for a moment then asked what it was.
Jack apologetically explained that it was worth a few cents less than its American value since the Canadian dollar is a bit stronger on today's market.
The young man got excited and said, "Oh, I'll never spend this. It's the first time I ever saw American money!"
That is a true story.
Dorothy, we aren't in Kansas any longer.
