Alaska's Wonders

We are here, Alaska!!

Al fin!

We have a few hundred more miles of driving so let's begin the filling--

filling of our eyes and souls with the wonders only you can give.

A river still covered with a lot of ice even though it was mid-June,

(This made Jack a bit nervous.)

A large grizzly walking briskly within feet of our car windows,

A bull moose dripping with plants from the bottom of a pond as he eats his grassy dinner

and calmly surveys us parked close to him,

Mountain vistas that go on for miles and miles with no end in sight,

A casual and well-fed black bear so close that we can hear

munching sounds as he enjoys the flowers along the roadway.

Let the summer of wonders begin!!!!
