Growth happens.

Early in the summer,
when mostly just the iris bloomed,
we noticed long sticks protruding from clumps of green.
A sign of things to come?

These sticks weren't attractive, but silently promised something good ahead.

As weeks swiftly passed, the sticks disappeared underneath
vibrant and thick snap dragons.

Last week on our walk, we were shocked by the continued growth of these yellow snaps.
Jack stands behind them, almost hidden. They flowers are over 4 feet tall.

And just outside the hospital outpatient entrance, where I enter and exit work,
this planter overflows.

Here is a begonia, larger than my hand.
Such beauty. Such abundance. It's heady.
